Opening This Weekend: Zac Efron's Pants

One of Efron's many good sides
Warning: the Zac Efron on the screen during The Lucky One may appear larger than he actually is due to the excessive working out and consumption of chicken smoothies which he no longer takes part in.  But, if inflated half-naked, tanned twinks aren't your thing, then, this weekend, it's your opportunity to support domestic abuser Chris Brown in Think Like a Man.  Disney releases Chimpanzee wide, but, if you prefer your nature documentaries less manipulative, on IMAX screens, and narrated by none other than Meryl Streep, than perhaps To the Arctic is more your bag.  There's also a documentary on Bob Marley.

On less screens, Diane Keaton loves her Darling Companion more than her marital companion and he doesn't get it.  Scotty Speedman is looking migh-ty fine in Mary Harron's The Moth Diaries, a vampire thriller set in an all-girl's school.  Julia Roberts' produced a film with Toni Collette who raises a boy created in a petri dish not quite named Jesus Henry Christ.  A young, talented Russian violinist is torn between the demands of his father and freedom in Downtown Express.

I don't do subtitles ... rawr
Foreign Language
A somber horror movie about war and the undead with social commentary, Zombie Dawn, is based on a Chilean comic book.  I caught Goodbye First Love at TIFF.  The French film was a sweet take on a girl coming of age.  My Way is a South Korean movie about a Korean and Japanese runner who get caught up in World War II.  International documentary Whores' Glory has a poetic, moving trailer.
