She has been romantically involved with a host of celebrities including Johnny Depp, William Baldwin, George Stephanopoulos and Matthew Broderick. During the summer of 1987, while she was at a career high thanks to Dancing’s long legs at the box-office, she was involved in a car accident with Broderick that resulted in two deaths. Often derided for her distinctive nose, Grey underwent rhinoplasty after she rode out the notoriety she achieved for Dancing. The surgery resulted in a complete physical transformation further diminishing her recognizability in the public eye and compromising her career. She had a brief stint on the Seinfeldknockoff It’s Like, You Know … playing herself and poking fun at her change in appearance.
Aside from playing Ferris Bueller's sister Jeanie, modern audiences will best know the dance-trained actor as the November 2011 winner of Dancing with the Stars, often having longtime friends like celebrity royalty Jamie Lee Curtis and Melanie Griffith (both of their mothers starred in Alfred Hitchcock films) cheering her on in the audience. In 2001, she married Clark Gregg, who is best known for playing Julia Louis Dreyfuss’ ex-husband on The New Adventures of Old Christine. (Fun fact: that sneaky actor also wrote the screenplay for box-office hit What Lies Beneath.) Together, they have one daughter.
